Last month I introduced my new “love your tongue” campaign, which begins with the sampling and savoring of different Haagen-Dasz ice cream flavors. Last month’s flavor was simply food-gasmic.
This month I chose the flavor “Bourbon Praline Pecan.” From the marketers: “incredible bourbon-infused ice cream, brown sugar and crunchy praline pecans brings a bold decadence. A toast to you.”
It was the “bourbon infusion” that interested me most. When I opened the carton, the smell of a nice glass of neat bourbon wafted to my nose. The first taste was decadent, as promised. There was a slight rich creaminess, followed by a delicious, still crystalized brown sugar surprise. I’m not a huge fan of nuts folded into ice cream. This is not the flavors fault, so I’ll just say that the pralines fit the flavor perfectly. I personally did not care for the texture that created.
Overall a delightful treat!
